Thanks for your interest in our embroidery services at Cosmic Threads. Our family-owned custom shop specializes in high-quality patches and hats for retail resellers. Our vendor list includes a variety of hat vendors to source headwear that supports your vision and retail needs.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM ORDER?
We have reasonable minimums to support your business needs:
A minimum order of 48 pieces per design with your high-resolution artwork (i.e., 300 dpi) as a PNG, JPEG, or PDF file with 100% indicating the desired patch size and colors. No gradients.
Don’t have a design? No problem. We are happy to create a custom design for you, with a minimum order of 72 hats per design. We design everything in-house. For many of our retail clients, we create a monthly collection of designs. Their customers purchase multiple hats throughout the year. WHAT IS THE COST?
Per-patch pricing varies by stitch count and selected hat. On average, each patch costs approximately $7, including the cost of sewing the final hat selection.
The cost of your selected hat will be added to the patch cost. The price of hats ranges from $3 to over $20 depending on the hat design. We provide a quote with a digital rendering of the patch design on your chosen hat. The quote is good for 14 days.
If you are providing your own design, we need 4 things from you to provide a quote:
Your high-resolution design file (Adobe Illustrator or Layered PDF at 100% size and 300 dpi.
The type of hat you would like (i.e., trucker, Dad cap, rope cap, etc.) or the specific cap brand and style you want if you know it. You can search ssactivewear.com for styles. Keep in mind that you pay our wholesale pricing, not the price listed on the S&S website.
The number of hats you would like per design (minimum 24).
A copy of your Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificate (we primarily sell to tax-exempt resellers).
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY ORDER?
We will email you an invoice once you give the go-ahead on the quote. After you pay the invoice online, we will order your hats and provide you with an estimated shipping date for the completed order. Our standard promised delivery time is 10 business days after receipt of payment. Occasionally, some hats are available one day and out of stock the next. If we place the hat order and find it is out of stock, we will suggest a substitution for your approval.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here are some answers to common questions:
How big can a patch be and fit on a hat? What font size? It varies slightly by hat design, but generally, a standard patch is no more than 2.25 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide. The minimum font on your design must be 15 pt.
What's the best way to communicate with Cosmic Threads? We are a family business of owner-operators who spend their day around loud embroidery machines. Phone calls are problematic. Text messaging doesn’t work since files are exchanged. Emailing us will get the quickest response. order@cosmicthreadtx.com
Do you do specialty embroidery such as garments, puff stitches, cap back and side embroidery, or direct-to-cap embroidery? We use high-end embroidery equipment designed for creating custom patches, which is our specialty. However, depending on your design, we may be able to do direct-to-hat embroidery. Sorry, we don’t do puff patches or garment embroidery.
Where are you located, and do you ship? We are located in Georgetown, Texas, just north of Austin. We will ship your order free to locations within Texas or charge you UPS shipping for destinations outside of Texas.
How do I know what my hat and patch will look like before ordering? We will email you a digital proof of the patch mocked up on the selected hat as part of your quote. We may require you to approve a physical sample of the stitched patch and hat for large orders, which will delay completion of your order.
Can I provide you with the hats? Sure. We are happy to have you supply your hats. We will give you a shipping address. However, we sell our hats to you at wholesale cost (no markup on our part), and we might be able to buy them more cheaply from our wholesalers.
